Group Insurance is purchased by
employers on behalf of employees to provide benefits coverage to employees and their
dependents. This way, individuals are covered as part of a group which allows for
pricing advantages, based on the experience of the group.
Group Insurance provides employees with the opportunity to have
insurance coverage that they otherwise might not be able to afford. Often coverage is
available without having to provide a medical history. Premiums paid by the employer on
behalf of employees are tax deductible.
What You Should Know...
Under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act
which was passed in August of 1996, you can now avoid the inconvenience of
unnecessary pre-existing condition limitations by requesting a CCC (Certificate of
Credible Coverage) from the previous carrier. When you include the CCC, the Employer
Election Form and Exhibit A with your application for coverage, you save yourself a
lot of hassle.
For more information about the CCC, Employer Election Form or
Exhibit A, please visit our contact page and fill out the
information request form there.

"We recently changed our group health insurance to
Copelan. They explained the differences in the various plans and the pricing of each. We
were able to make the change relatively easy as the people at Copelan helped us with all
the paperwork"
